Our mission: clearing a property without adding stress
Our mission is to take the whole job of clearing a home or business premises off your hands, so you no longer have to think about it. Clearing a house rarely happens at a good time: after a bereavement, when a parent moves into a care home, before a sale, at the end of a tenancy or when a business closes. These are often demanding periods, emotionally and administratively.
We handle everything: the estimate, the planning, the parking request for the van, dismantling, removal, sorting, donations, recycling and the final sweep. You deal with one point of contact from the first call to the handover of the keys.
Our story
Sparkling Services SA is listed in the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE) with a start date of 22 April 2005. Our registered office and operating base share the same address: Rue des Anciens Étangs 40, 1190 Forest, in the south of Brussels.
Today we work in Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia. We speak English, French and Dutch, and we can be reached 7 days a week, from 07:00 to 20:00.
We would rather give you facts you can check than slogans. Below are the details that let you verify who we are before you entrust us with a property.
How we work
Every job starts with a site visit, which is free, or an assessment from photos, and ends with an empty, swept property. In between, we always follow the same steps:
- Listening: you explain the situation, your timing and what you want to keep.
- Assessment: we estimate the volume in cubic metres, access, floors, any special items and the value of reusable belongings.
- Written quote: you receive a detailed price, VAT included, with no obligation.
- Clearance: the team usually clears the property in 1 to 3 days depending on its size, protecting communal areas.
- Sorting and handover: items are donated or recycled, and we return the keys, with photos if you were not there.
Personal documents, family photos, jewellery or paperwork found during the job are never thrown away without your consent: we set them aside and return them to you.
How the value of your belongings is taken into account
At Sparkling Services, the value of reusable or resellable furniture and items is deducted from the cost of the clearance, and the calculation is shown in the quote. During the visit or from photos, we compare that value with the work involved (volume, access, sorting, any cleaning, deadline). There are three possible outcomes:
- Free clearance: the value of the belongings covers the cost, you pay nothing.
- We pay you: the value of the belongings exceeds the cost, we pay you the difference.
- You pay: few or no items of value, you pay a fixed price on quotation.
The option is written in black and white before the job, and the price does not change on the day. For a particularly valuable piece, you remain free to consult an independent expert before we arrive.
Our values
Three values guide our work: transparency, respect and responsibility.
- Transparency: a written quote showing what is included, prices stated with VAT included, and no surprise extras on the day if the agreed volume is accurate.
- Respect: for people, memories and places. We work discreetly after a death or in a heavily hoarded home, without judgement.
- Responsibility: we sort, donate and recycle rather than sending everything for incineration.
Reuse and recycling
Whatever can still be used goes to charity; whatever cannot is sorted for recycling. Furniture, crockery, linen, books and working appliances go to charities and social enterprises (for example Les Petits Riens, Oxfam, Terre or De Kringwinkel), depending on the region and what they accept.
The rest is separated by material (wood, metal, paper and cardboard, electrical and electronic equipment, bulky waste) and handed to sorting centres and recycling parks. Hazardous products are handled separately, and asbestos is only ever removed by a certified contractor.
Who we work for
We work for private clients and professionals who need a property cleared quickly and properly.
- Families and heirs: clearing a parent's home after a death or when they move into a care home.
- Landlords and tenants: handing back an empty, clean property before a check-out inspection or a new let.
- Estate agents, notaries and property managers: preparing a property for sale, clearing basements or communal areas.
- Businesses and self-employed professionals: clearing offices, a shop or a warehouse during a move or a closure.
- Social workers and relatives: stepping in tactfully in a heavily hoarded home.
Three regions, three languages
Sparkling Services works in Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia, in English, French and Dutch.
In practice, a family with members in Liège, Ghent and London can manage a parent's house through one contact, each in their own language. Expats in Brussels, international organisations' staff, property managers and estate agents can also work with us anywhere in our area, with the same method and the same pricing logic. Call us on +32 485 39 99 41 or write to us through the contact form.
What you can check
Before you entrust a property to a company, a few simple checks are enough. Here are ours, and you can verify them yourself.
- Company and VAT number: BE 0873.407.695. A search in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (kbopub.economie.fgov.be) shows the name Sparkling Services SA, the start date and the registered office.
- Operating address: Rue des Anciens Étangs 40, 1190 Forest (also the registered office).
- Hours: 7 days a week, from 07:00 to 20:00, on +32 485 39 99 41 or through the contact form.
- Price: every quote is given in writing before the job, VAT included. It deducts the value of reusable items and states the option (free clearance, we pay you or fixed price).
