The Province of Antwerp is the most populous province in Belgium, and the homes we clear there vary enormously.
In the city of Antwerp, home to more than 560,000 people and, since the merger of 1 January 2025, also to Borsbeek, we mostly clear narrow townhouses, flats above shops and tower blocks on the Left Bank, where everything depends on the size of the lift and the building manager's rules. In Mechelen and Lier, the historic centres mean steep staircases and pedestrian streets; in Brasschaat, it is more often large villas in wooded neighbourhoods. Further east, in the Kempen or Campine (Turnhout, Geel, Mol, Herentals), you find detached houses with big gardens, spread-out hamlets and, around the lakes of Mol, chalets and weekend homes that have often filled up over the years. The reasons for a clearance are the same as anywhere: the death of a parent, a move into a care home, the sale of the property or the end of a tenancy. For waste, residents rely on several bodies: the City of Antwerp's recycling parks, the IVAREM intercommunale around Mechelen and Lier, IOK Afvalbeheer in the Kempen and IGEAN north of Antwerp. These parks are meant for households: on a clearance, Sparkling Services takes nothing there and uses licensed processing channels instead, after reusable items have gone to social-economy organisations. The official language is Dutch, but we also work in French and English, which helps families spread across the country and international residents. We arrange the parking request with the municipality, protect communal areas and hand the property back empty and swept.
- The city of Antwerp has 14 districts and has included Borsbeek since the merger of 1 January 2025.
- Four bodies run the province's recycling parks: the City of Antwerp, IVAREM, IOK Afvalbeheer and IGEAN.
- In the Kempen, many clearances involve detached houses with large gardens, outbuildings and garages.
- In Antwerp's tower blocks, booking the lift with the building manager sets the timing of the job.
