Unboarded loft, roof room or timber-framed attic in Brussels (1000): our team works on the joists, dismantles furniture too large for the hatch and sorts everything by channel. The price is fixed before the job, and the clearance can be free if your items have value.
Attic clearance in Brussels: our approach
Brussels City has two kinds of attics. In the Pentagon, the Marolles or around the Sablon, the narrow multi-storey houses hide a loft under a steep roof, served by a top flight of stairs where two people can barely pass; when the house is split into flats without a lift, every box goes down several floors by hand. In Laeken, Neder-Over-Heembeek and Haren, single-family houses and villas tend to have an unboarded loft behind a hatch or pull-down ladder, filled with suitcases, toys and Christmas decorations. We clear the attic on its own, without touching the rest of the home.
- Unboarded loft: walking on the joists, never on the ceiling.
- Roof room: furniture dismantled to pass under the slopes.
- Archive attic: photos, letters and papers set aside for you.
One quote in Brussels, whatever the layout.
Attic clearance in Brussels: access, carrying down and removal
In the centre, the constraint on an attic clearance lies in the street as much as on the stairs. A parking space with no-parking signs has to be requested from the City of Brussels several days ahead, and in the Pentagon the pedestrian zone and restricted-access streets mean checking delivery hours: we time the attic descent to fit those slots. In a house split into flats, we inform the managing agent or the neighbours, protect the shared landings and leave nothing waiting in the stairwell. The lofts under the roof timbers of these old houses often hide trunks, dismantled furniture and boxes of papers, which we set aside for you. Reusable items go to the social economy and the rest to suitable recycling channels; the Bruxelles-Propreté Buda and Demets Recyparks remain reserved for residents bringing their own waste.
Brussels attic clearance: the Louise district, Laeken and Haren
In the Louise district and the European Quarter, buildings run by a property manager sometimes have storage lofts under the roof. Clearing them means booking the lift and, in some buildings, using a loading bay shared with offices: we fit the timing to the manager's rules and protect the lift car and corridors.
In the Pentagon, where many front doors open straight onto the pavement, there is nowhere to set down what comes from the attic: we prepare loads on the upper floors and carry them to the truck in a steady flow. To the north, in Laeken and Haren, houses often have a well-filled garage as well as an attic, and both can be cleared on the same day; in the social housing of these areas, access is arranged with the housing company. Each sorted stream then goes to a suitable recycling channel.
